weekend #3 in the inglenook

a long weekend and thankfully still mild weather!!
I have been trawling reclamation yards picking up original read&black/blue Ruabon tiles.
So this weekend layed them in (not easy!) and then grouted them in.
Then spent a day in the Library, painting and tidying while the tiles dried
So on Sunday acid cleaned the whole room and wax sealed it .

Now just need the Esse to be delivered and installed soon please!

  1. When are you expecting the Esse? We really wanted one but we knew we would struggle with the wood supply.

  2. it's being deivered on Wednesday, and hopefully fitted then too. We have a local log supplier (And some of our own tree's that are destined for logs too), so should be able to keep supplied. But I can empathise, we are now dependant on 2 logburners for all our heating (apart form electric blankets), so keeping supplied with wood is going to be key to making the house comfortable !!!

  3. Tree surgeons can be very good too, we have a large log store (5mx2.4) and we try buy a year/two years in advance of what we will need. We rely on the stove for our downstairs heating solely and it's brilliant.

I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on.

    Aaron.

  6. I keep thinking that when my wife keeps wanting me to get some smokeless fuel for overnight burning. Unusually warm but awfully wet at the moment isn't it. (btw i've only realised now that i use my wife blogging account to message)
